If you prefer english, no problem.
Kind regards,
Gruß,
Helmut

Hello Bernhard and Helmut,
Thank you very much for your answers. And please entschuldigen Sie für meine ”nicht so gut Deutch”. But you did anyhow understood my question.
Bernhard: I will do the connection as picture number 6 shows in the intallation guide which means I could also monitor the Li battery voltage.
Helmut: The Victron Smartshunt 500 is a quite new shunt which sends the data wireless via Bluetooth to your Iphone or Ipad. It can handle 500 A which is more than enopugh for my Hymer wth 1800 watt inverter.
Both of you: have a nice weekend.

Anders, just to explain: Connection in picture number 6 shows installation with starting battery (left) and consumer battery (right). Consumer battery stands for the Hymer Smart Battery System in total. You cannot monitor the Li battery only, not this this installation, nor as the Li battery of the Hymer System is no stand alone solution (it works only connected to a lead acid battery).
However, connection as picture nbr 6 is correct for your purpose!

Further, concerning your 1800 W inverter: With your system (135 Ah Li plus 2 x 95 Ah AGM), full power will be ok for some coffees but not for a long time with a hair dryer of 1800 W. Pls note that maximum current of the Li pack is limitted to 75 A. I have a measuring diagram of your system, showing constant discharging with 12 A over 20 hours to SOC = 0. From SOC 100% to SOC 50% all from Li, than AGM starts supporting untill SOC 30%, between SOC 30 to 20% current is equal, below AGM predominate.

And finally for your settings of the Smartshunt: 135 Ah is the usable capacity of the Li part and 2 x 47,5 Ah of the AGM part, in total 230 Ah usable capacity. I set the usable capacity to 100 % as it is with water or Diesel.
Gruß,
Helmut

Good morning Helmut,
Thanks again for your answer and your help in this matter. Yesterday evening I took some time and read the manual for the Victron Smartshunt 500. There I saw that the picture 6 is for monitoring voltage for the starting battery, as you also say in your message. The Hymer smart battery system, with LI-battery and AGM battery is a system working together, as you also describe, to give you a good autarkie-zeit. Anyhow I will use the possibility in the Victron system to monitor the starter battery voltage (picture 6).
I have the 1800W inverter to run our Nespresso Coffe-machine to give my wife her beloved Coffee-Latte three to four times per day. Most times when we are out travelling in the Hymer we are connected to "Landstrom" so no problem.
Our Hymer B MC I-690 was delivered from Hymer factory exactly two years ago. It was delivered fully equipped with all possible accessories (for example Hymer Smart Battery System, Inverter, Goldschmitt Hydrual stützen), mounted in the factory before delivery. The only thing I have mounted afterwards are the thin Solar Panels on roof (2 x 150 watt) with Votronic MPPT 350 Solar Regulator with Votronic LCD solar-computer S and the Solar Data Extender for Votronics Energy Monitor app. For the soon coming season I want to have a monitoring system for my Hymer Smart Battery System which made me to find the Victron Smartshunt 500 (seems that Votronics shunts are hard to find). I have ordered the Victron shunt from Amazon, who have very good price for it and it will arrive on Wednesday.
We love the new chassie and motor of the Hymer B MC-I-690. Before we had for one year the 2017 Hymer Mercedes ML I 620 but when we heard about the new B MC-I 690 we ordered it autumn 2018 for delivery in April 2019. So much easier to drive and handle with the new 9G automatic gearbox and all the safety systems with MBUX 10.25". Before the pandemi we travelled to Germany many times. We love Mosel, Bodensee, Dresden, Nordsee-coast and as soon we are vaccinated and borders are open we go again. First trip we drove from Göteborg through Norway to Nordkapp. My wife is from Norwegen.
All the best from Schweden and Anders

Anders,
you got a nice Hymer with usefull features. Seems that your SmartBatterySystem is without the SOC-Monitor (Hymer LCD Ladezustandstrendanzeige), which is meanwhile included in the package, but in my opinion not really usefull, because it does not show current in and out. Your decision for a Victron Shunt is right.

Helmut

Helmut, I have the SOC-Monitor as it is included in the package, just forgot to mention it. But I think as you, it is not really useful. It is the current in- and outflow you want to see as the history of the flows.

Hallo Anders,

Hi Marc,

Wolfgang
